Pushing The Line - Art Without Reservations

1-hour TV Documentary, HDTV (47min)

Mitzi Productions: Julia Fong, Producer
Executive Producer: Ian Thompson
Director: Lisa Jackson

A one-hour documentary that travels to the stunning Northwest Coast and into the art world to follow aboriginal artists who are creating innovative work that is challenging expectations and taking on issues that affect us all.

Northwest Coast artists Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas and Marianne Nicolson spend their days creating work that pushes boundaries, redefining what society has come to expect of Indigenous art. Director Lisa Jackson takes us on a thought-provoking journey from remote coastal villages, through tacky souvenir shops and into the glitz of modern art galleries, to reveal the evolution of contemporary Indigenous art as we know it.
